Philip S Lee, MD, PhD
Dr. Lee provides advanced and innovative care for patients with complex neurosurgical conditions. As Director of Epilepsy Surgery, he has experience treating a wide variety of neurosurgical disorders of the brain and spine, and specializes in treating patients with epilepsy. His advanced training includes intraoperative speech and motor mapping. He also performs intracranial electroencephalography, neuromodulation, and laser thermal ablation for epilepsy.
After earning his doctoral degree in clinical psychology at George Mason University in Fairfax, Virginia, Dr. Lee completed an internship at Children’s National Medical Center and a postdoctoral fellowship in developmental cognitive neuroscience at Georgetown University in Washington, D.C.
Dr. Lee attained his medical degree at the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine and completed his neurological surgery residency, with a fellowship in epilepsy and functional neurosurgery, at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center.
He is a member of the American Epilepsy Society, Congress of Neurological Surgeons, and American Association of Neurological Surgeons.
As a physician with the Allegheny Health Network (AHN) Neuroscience Institute, Dr. Lee is part of an innovative program that unites leading medical experts to offer advanced care for individuals with complex neurological disorders. AHN surgeons are experienced at performing procedures safely and effectively for the treatment of all types of brain, spine, and neurosurgical conditions.
